COPE is planning the 2019 Annual Network Meeting with Probacja Foundation, which will be taking place in Krakow, from Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June, with a special “pre-event” on Thursday 30 May.
On Thursday 30 May, COPE is organizing ‘youth focus groups’ to boost the participation of children and young people in COPE’s work. The idea is to allow the young people to develop a support tool for other young people coping with a parent’s imprisonment.
On Friday 31 May, the conference “Bridging the gap: boosting the visibility, voices and cross-sectoral support of children who have a parent in prison” will be held. The conference has received the backing of Poland’s Central Board of Prison Service and the Ombudsman’s Office and will feature a line-up of internationally renowned speakers. During the conference, participants will be able to hear feedback from the youth focus groups on the Thursday.
On Saturday 1 June a Forum for Reflection and Exchange will be held. COPE members will be able to share highlights of initiatives from the past year, discuss different programmes and progress that has been made on the question of children with a parent in prison.
COPE’s General Assembly will take place Saturday afternoon, allowing for a review of the past year and perspectives for the future.
Sunday 2 June, COPE is planning to visit a prison.
